Beautiful Buildings.......

Crown Building on Fifth Avenue

Bergdorf Goodman's Store
Everywhere we walk we are find such amazing buildings... Unfortunately, they are NOT always labeled and we don't always know what we are looking at.....Here are a few anyway....

This view is taken from our kitchen window.......

Restaurant in Bryant Park (Behind Library)

Beautiful entrance to the Apthorp Apartment.  I knew it sounded familiar and Celeste reminded me it was Nora Ephron's home when she wrote "I Feel Bad About My Neck."

Knights of Pythias

Pierre Hotel on 5th Avenue

These 2 are just some random "brownstones" that we pass either on our way to or from Central Park.

The above picture is of a building that you can see from lots of places in the park.  It is the San Remo and according to the Wikipedia entry on it owners of apartments include:  Tiger Woods, Stephen Spielberg, Donna Karan, Demi Moore, Glenn Close and Bono.

This next building was near the entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge.  We were meeting a walking tour and saw it there.

The two buildings above are directly across the street from the exit from Grand Central Terminal.  Further research may help us with the names....

Possibly should not be included on the "beautiful building" page.... but this was taken from out of the window of the 7 subway ..... Queens......It has a certain beauty.....

This next building is a pretty one right around the corner from our apartment.

These are added later in our trip.... this next one is on the southern edge of Central Park....  John remembered the name to be the Gainsborough Building....

Next building is the New York Athletic Club... home to the Heisman Trophy....Building is on the southern edge of Central Park.

Love the hanging gardens from the second floor on this one.....
Not really so beautiful.... but pretty famous!

Love the contrast here......

Sony Building as seen from Trump Towers Garden......

  1. Loved Nora Ephron's books of essays ...the essay about that apartment block was a fave.
